ICE SHOW Volunteer Information

NOTE:  UPON ARRIVAL ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW, ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST CHECK-IN AT THE VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN DESK LOCATED IN THE ARENA LOBBY

Set up/Take Down

Involves building set, setting up spotlights, blocking out glass around ice, taping carpet paths on floor from dressing rooms to set - Arrival Time at Tony Rose on dress rehearsal day:  any time after 3 pm – dress rehearsal begins at 5 pm – on-ice workers need to wear hockey helmet – please bring if you have one (a few extras available)

Dressing Room Volunteers (at least one or ideally two per group)

 

Your job is to stay with your group of skaters in the dressing room from drop off to pick up - help with dressing, lacing up skates, entertaining the skaters, accompany your group to behind the set for their performance.

Dressing Room Volunteers (except Precanskate) please bring:

  • Laundry basket to hold skate guards and coats behind set if necessary
  • Colouring books, games, things to entertain skaters
  • A dry snack for skaters (if you wish)

Assistance at dress rehearsal is also much appreciated if you are available – we will look for you

Ice Captain

Ensure all groups of skaters are at the set in the show order and in time for their performance

Spotlights

Take charge and operate spotlight during the performance

Security

Stay at the B rink entrance and ensure people do not enter show rink

House Lights

Take charge of turning house lights on and off as needed during show as instructed by coaches

Ticket Sales

Sell tickets to the show at the door – must be available an hour before showtime

Program/Flower Sales

Sell programs and flowers at ice level before and during the show

Volunteer Check-In

Check in volunteers and provide with ID as they arrive – must be available an hour before showtime

Popcorn

Make and bag complimentary popcorn throughout the show

50/50 Draw

Travel through audience selling 50/50 tickets before show and during intermission
